Manitobah Mukluks

Manitobah Mukluks are a proudly Canadian, Aboriginal footwear company. Throughout history, Canada's First Peoples wore mukluks and moccasins as they thrived in harmony with nature. As European settlers arrived, they too adopted this traditional footwear.

Manitobah Mukluks use the same natural insulators that Aboriginal people have been using to brave the coldest climates for thousands of years. Sheepskin, suede and rabbit fur make many pairs of Mukluks rated down to -30 degrees Celcius! The natural materials used stretch and form to your foot, so it's good to pick a product that fits you snugly.

Make sure to choose the sole that is right for you - crepe or Vibram! A crepe sole is made from natural rubber that molds to your foot when you apply heat. It is great for indoor wear and light outdoor use. It will break down with repeated use on pavement! Vibram is the world's leading high-performance rubber sole. It can withstand the effects of cold and high-abrasion urban environments.

Silicone based sprays can be used to protect suede and leather. However, DO NOT spray the fur areas because fur contains natural protective oils. To ensure a long life for your mukluks, dry them thoroughly.

Manitobah Mukluks produces, designs and sells traditional Aboriginal footwear. For thousands of years, native people have been using leathers and furs to create beautiful and functional footwear and Manitobah Mukluks is proud to carry on this tradition. The furs and leathers used are by-products of the meat industry. Essentially, they are taking a material that is considered 'waste' and utilizing it to make wonderful moccasins and mukluks.
